Looking for a Seminar Co-Host in Japan? Try X
I recently reached out on LinkedIn to find a co-host for a client's seminar, and heard nothing back. I tried the same company on X, and got a reply.
Where Japanese Companies Actually Are
LinkedIn's user base in Japan is still relatively limited compared to its global reach. Especially when the company you're targeting is a purely domestic Japanese business without global operations, LinkedIn often isn't where you'll actually find them.
X, on the other hand, has a notably high usage rate in Japan relative to global standards. For finding a seminar co-host, X tends to be the more realistic channel.
Having a Presence Matters Too
That said, having no presence on X at all can raise its own kind of doubt — whether the company is really operating, or real at all. That's part of why, while LinkedIn is still building its base in Japan, posting in Japanese on X still carries real value.
This matters even more when the partner you're hoping to reach is a Japanese company without a global footprint.
